PointAlliance, everything I stated is a fact and did not stretch the truth or manipulate the facts unlike your emails. So don’t act all pissy when we meet cause the Canadian market is pretty small. So own up and don’t do this again!!
Just though I would let you know that my VP got this email recently and repeatedly.
A few things I don’t like about this. See my comments below
- The from email is email@example.com making it seem like it is from IBM? But it is not. A quick look up reveals it is from, pointalliance. They could have just as easily used firstname.lastname@example.org
- The first line says Lotus Notes the last chapter!! Really?? Can you expand what you mean by that. Because it sounds like you are hinting end of life? Now it could be you are a MS shop and just not know better?? But that really is not the case is it? According to your website you are the founders of the Toronto Lotus User group? So I assume you know it is not the last chapter. Here the link from your website in case you forgot.
- The question is are you “Still using Lotus Notes?” You know what I would have let that one slide had you not used IBM in the from email. But you did, which made it seem like IBM is wondering why in the world we are using Lotus notes.
- Clicking on the survey this is what you get
“Are you aware IBM has sold off the Lotus Business unit?” Its true IBM is in a joint venture with HCL but has not sold off Domino!! And there is more investment in Domino now then there has been in the last 6 year!! HCL also hired many key IBMer responsible for product development, architecture and technical leadership. Regardless I still think the statement “Are you aware IBM has sold off the Lotus Business unit?” is false and a complete lie. Or maybe Point Alliance is not aware of what is going on.
To conclude PointAlliance, I understand your running a business and migrating domino users is part of your business. I have no problem with that. But do it ethically and not try to confuse VPs and spread inaccurate information. And Note that everything I stated is a fact and did not stretch the truth or manipulate the facts unlike your emails. So don’t act all pissy when we meet cause the Canadian market is pretty small. So own up and don’t do this again.
Also just a small reminder. Canada does have Anti-Spam legislation (CASL). I admit it is possible that we may have subscribed to receive emails from Point Alliance. But I am sure we never subscribed to receive email from email@example.com!!
The minimum fine is a Million to Ten Million… I could send you guys a mass survey asking how many Zeros are in a million, or perhaps Are you Still using Point Alliance? But I would not want to break any anti spam rules.
